Key Takeaways
- A project is tracked in the language of its market. In a project whose language is not English, every prompt shows a muted English line under the original, and any answer can be shown in English with one click. English projects show nothing extra.
- The English lines appear on the Prompts page (cards and table), on the AI visibility prompt cards, under the Prompt insights heading and in the prompt analysis popup. The Translate to English button sits above the answer in that popup.
- Nothing in your data changes. Every rate is read from the original answer, and the brand and sentiment highlights stay on the original; the English view is for reading.
- Every project member can use it, viewers included, on every plan. Each prompt and answer is translated once per project and opens instantly for everyone afterwards.
What It Is
Ayzeo tracks each market in its own language. A project has a region and a language, its prompts are written in that language, and the AI engines answer in it, the way a customer in that market asks. That is the right basis for the numbers, and it stays unchanged.
Reading those prompts and answers is a different matter when the people who report on the project do not speak its language: an agency team reporting on a client in another market, or a central brand team reading its regional projects. For them, every project whose language is not English shows an English line under every prompt, and shows any answer in English on request.
The original is always the text the engines answered. The English is a reading aid next to it, never a replacement, and nothing is run or counted again when it is shown.
Where the English Lines Appear
In a project whose language is not English, a muted English line sits under the prompt in every place that lists prompts:
- Prompts page: under the prompt text of every card, and in the table view.
- AI visibility page: under the prompt on every prompt card.
- Prompt insights: under the heading, which is the prompt itself.
- Prompt analysis popup: under the prompt bubble above the answer, wherever the popup opens from (Prompts, AI visibility, Prompt insights or Search queries).
Prompts that were translated before show their line at once. Prompts that have not been translated yet get their line a second or two after the page loads. A prompt that is already in English, or one that cannot be translated, shows no line.
Translating an Answer
- Open an answer in the prompt analysis popup, from a prompt card, the AI visibility page, the Prompt insights archive or a Search queries drawer.
- Select Translate to English above the answer. The whole answer appears in English, with a short note above it: "English translation. Highlights show on the original."
- Select Show original to switch back.
Once it is on, it stays on for that popup: every answer you step to, another engine's tab, an older or newer run, or the next prompt with the arrow keys, comes in English as well, until you close the popup. The next time you open the popup it starts on the original again.
The first translation of a long answer takes a few seconds (about three to four for a typical long answer). After that, the same answer opens in English instantly, for every member of the project.
What Is Translated, and What Is Not
Translated:
- The text of every prompt (the English line).
- The whole text of an answer, on request. Links, headings, lists and tables are kept in place; brand and product names, numbers and prices stay as written.
Not translated, on purpose or not yet:
- The numbers. Visibility Rate, Citation Rate, Mention Rate, Sentiment and Avg. Position are read from the original answer and do not change when it is shown in English.
- The highlights. The marks on your brand and on positive and negative phrases belong to the original and are not shown on the English view.
- Not yet: the phrases behind the Sentiment score, Search queries, the titles of sources, the PDF and Word reports and the CSV exports. They stay in the language of the project for now.
Reading is English only. There is no setting for another reading language.
Who Can Use It
Every member of a project, viewers included, on every plan, the free snapshot project too. There is no extra charge and nothing to switch on.
Each prompt and each answer is translated once per project and kept. The first person who opens a page or an answer waits for the translation; everyone after them gets it at once. A changed prompt or a new run is translated afresh, so an English line never belongs to an older text.
Limits
- Very long answers. Only the first part, about 40,000 characters, is translated. The note above the answer then reads "English translation of the first part of this long answer."
- Very heavy use. A person who translates several hundred new answers in one day is paused until the next day. Answers that are already translated keep opening, and other members are not affected.
- Answers that cannot be translated. Now and then an answer is refused by the translation. The popup then says "This answer can't be translated." and the original stays open.
- A short pause. When many translations are requested in a short time, the popup asks you to wait a moment.
Setting the Language of a Project
The language of a project is set when the project is created and can be changed by a project owner or admin in Project Settings → Tracking → Project Details, next to the region. It is the language the prompts are written and answered in, and it decides whether the English lines and the Translate to English button appear: they do for every language except English.
One project is one website in one market. A brand sold in Germany and in France is two projects, one in German and one in French, each with its own prompts in its own language. Tags let you compare the same topic across the two.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why does my project show no English lines?
A: Because its language is English. The lines and the Translate to English button appear only in a project whose language, set in Project Settings under Tracking, is not English.
Q: Can I write my prompts in English for a German project?
A: You can, but the engines then answer an English question, which is not what a German customer asks or gets. Keep the prompts in the language of the market and read them through the English line.
Q: Does translating run the prompt again or spend anything from my plan?
A: No. Translating reads the stored answer and shows it in English. No prompt runs, no query is spent, and no number changes.
Q: Why does the English view have no highlights?
A: The marks on your brand and on positive and negative phrases are placed on the original text, where they were measured. Select Show original to see them.
Q: Can a client who is a viewer use it?
A: Yes. Viewers see the English lines and can translate any answer they can open, like every other member.
Q: Will the reports and exports be translated too?
A: Not yet. The PDF and Word reports, the CSV exports, Search queries, the source titles and the sentiment phrases stay in the language of the project for now.
Q: Can I read in a language other than English?
A: Not yet. The reading view is English only; the original always stays in the language of the project.
