Owned Channels: Your Profiles and Marketplaces Count as You

Register your LinkedIn, YouTube, marketplace and review profiles as Owned Channels so answers citing them count as citing your brand, with a per-channel performance breakdown on the analytics page.

Key Takeaways

  • AI assistants often cite your LinkedIn page, YouTube channel, marketplace listing or review profile instead of your website. Register those addresses as Owned Channels and answers citing them count as citing you.
  • Channel citations count toward your project's Visibility and Citation KPIs, and a Channel Performance section on the analytics page breaks results down per channel. Your Mention Rate is unaffected.
  • Any address works: over 25 platforms are recognized by name (LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Trustpilot, G2, Amazon and more), and anything else is tracked as a generic website channel.
  • Owned Channels is included in the Pro and Enterprise plans. Adding or removing a channel never runs a scan: changes apply from the project's next run.

What Owned Channels Are

Your brand does not live on one domain. There is the LinkedIn company page, the YouTube channel, the Instagram profile, the listing on Amazon, the profiles on Trustpilot or G2. When an AI assistant answers a question about your market, it often cites one of those addresses rather than your website, and without further configuration Ayzeo would count that citation like any third-party site.

An Owned Channel is an address you tell Ayzeo belongs to your brand. From the next run on, an answer citing that address, or any page under it, counts as citing you.

Well-known platforms are recognized automatically and labeled with their name and icon: LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X (Twitter), Facebook, GitHub, Pinterest, Reddit, Medium, Threads, Snapchat, WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, Twitch, Spotify, Apple, Amazon, Yelp, Tripadvisor, Trustpilot, Glassdoor, Crunchbase, Product Hunt, G2 and Capterra. Any other address, a partner microsite for example, is accepted too and tracked as a website channel.

How Matching Works

  • A cited link matches a channel when it is the channel's address or a page under it: linkedin.com/company/yourbrand also covers linkedin.com/company/yourbrand/posts/123, but never the unrelated linkedin.com/company/yourbrandnew.
  • Case, http versus https, www. and a trailing slash make no difference to matching. Links shown in the dashboard open the address exactly as you entered it.
  • Add the canonical profile address, not a single post: the profile covers every post under it.
  • Your own website, its subdomains and your brand alias domains always count as your main website. A channel address on your own domain is not needed.

What Changes in Your Analytics

Channel citations flow into the same KPIs as citations of your website: an answer whose sources include one of your channels counts for your Visibility Rate, and a channel page the model actually opened counts for your Citation Rate. Your Mention Rate is unchanged, because it comes from your brand being named in the answer text, not from links.

Once at least one channel is configured and cited, the AI Visibility Analytics page shows a Channel Performance section: one card per channel next to a card for your main website, each with its visibility rate, citation count and how many prompts cite it. The cards summarize the latest answer of every prompt and model. Selecting a card opens a drilldown that follows your date range and model filter and lists the prompts citing that channel, each with its runs, the last time it was cited and the cited address; a Live badge means the prompt's latest answer still cites the channel.

In the brand ranking table, a row that is one of your channels is labeled (Your Channel) instead of being listed as a competitor. The white-label PDF report includes an Owned Channels Performance section, which you can switch off in the report settings.

Adding and Removing Channels

Open Project Settings → Owned Channels. Project owners and admins can add and remove channels; every project member can see the channel analytics. Paste the address of the profile or page, with or without https://. Duplicates are rejected. A Pro subscription includes up to 10 channels per project and Enterprise up to 50; during a free trial the limit is 3.

Adding or removing a channel never starts a scan and costs nothing: the change applies from the project's next run. A newly added channel gets its card once the next run has answers for it, and results from before you added it are not restated. A removed channel disappears from the Channel Performance section immediately; numbers already stored keep its citations until the next run refreshes them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Which plans include Owned Channels?

A: The Pro and Enterprise plans, and the 14-day Pro trial. On other plans the settings section shows what the feature does and channels cannot be managed.

Q: Who can manage channels?

A: Project owners and admins add and remove channels. Editors and viewers see the Channel Performance section and the drilldowns like every other member, but cannot change the channel list.

Q: Do channel citations change my Mention Rate?

A: No. Channels affect the Visibility and Citation KPIs, which are based on the links in an answer. The Mention Rate counts your brand being named in the answer text and is not affected by channels.

Q: Should I add a profile or a single post?

A: The profile. A channel covers every page under its address, so linkedin.com/company/yourbrand also counts posts under it. A single post would only cover that post.

Q: Do owned channels apply to my competitors too?

A: No. Channels describe your own brand. Competitors are tracked by their domains, and a platform citation for a competitor stays a citation of that platform.

Q: Why does my new channel show no card yet?

A: Channel results are recorded when answers are scanned. A channel added today gets its numbers from the next run on; results from before it existed are not restated.

Q: What happens when I remove a channel?

A: It disappears from the Channel Performance section immediately and its drilldown is no longer available. KPI numbers already stored keep its citations until the next run refreshes the latest answers.
